What jamesperalta.com collects, why, who processes it, and how to delete it.

Last updated October 21, 2026

  • We collect what you give us (your name and email, resumes, interview answers, code and chats) and how you use the site.
  • We use it to run the features, count free allowances, bill Pro, and improve the product. We do not sell it or use it for advertising.
  • We share personal information with service providers for hosting and storage, sign-in, AI and speech features, analytics and session recordings, and payments.
  • You can ask for a copy of your data, or for your account and data to be deleted, at any time.

Who is responsible

jamesperalta.com is operated by James Peralta, based in Canada, who is responsible for the personal information described here.

What we collect

  • Account details. When you sign in we receive your name, email address and profile photo. We do not get access to anything else in your sign-in account.
  • What you create. Resumes and files you upload, your career profile, interview answers, code, scorecards, and messages with our AI interviewers and coaches.
  • Voice. If you answer out loud, the audio is sent to speech service providers to turn it into text. We keep the text, not the recording.
  • Billing. Our payment processor collects your payment details. We store your customer ID and subscription status, never your full card number.
  • Usage. Pages you visit, what you click, how you arrived, your device and browser, and an approximate location from your IP address. Our analytics provider also records sessions (clicks, scrolling and what is on screen) so we can find bugs and confusing screens; a recording can include text shown on the page, such as your resume.
  • API keys. If you create API keys we store only a hash of each key. For each request we log the operation, its result, and how long it took.

How we use it

  • To run the features you use, which means sending your resume, answers and messages to our AI providers to generate responses.
  • To save your progress and history.
  • To count free allowances and manage Pro subscriptions.
  • To understand how the site is used and to review samples of interviews and AI conversations so we can measure and improve their quality.
  • To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
  • To contact you about your account, billing, or important changes to the service.

Who processes it

We share personal information with service providers to help us run the site:

  • Hosting, database and file storage providers process account details, saved progress and content you upload or create so we can run the site and store your data.
  • Sign-in providers process account details to authenticate you when you sign in.
  • AI and speech providers process resumes, interview answers, code, messages and audio to generate responses, turn speech into text and read text aloud.
  • Analytics providers process usage data and session recordings, which can include text shown on screen, to help us understand how the site is used and find bugs.
  • Payment providers process payment and subscription information to handle payments, receipts and subscription management.

These providers store and process data in the United States and other countries, so your information may be handled outside Canada. We may also disclose information when the law requires it, or to a buyer if the site is ever sold, under this policy.

Recruiter access

Recruiters we approve can see a ranked list of candidate profiles built from career profiles, skills, target roles, practice readiness and resumes. To be left out, email us and we will remove you.

Cookies

We use cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember small choices like a dismissed notice, and measure usage. We do not use advertising cookies.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data while your account is open. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your data within 30 days, except billing records we must keep for tax and accounting.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your personal information, or withdraw consent to how we use it, by emailing us. You can revoke API keys yourself on the Developers page. If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the privacy regulator where you live.

Children

The site is not meant for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy we update the date at the top. For changes that matter, we will tell you on the site or by email before they take effect.
